Angola: Transport Ministry Pledges to Contribute to Country's Development

Huambo — The Angolan Ministry of Transport intends to contribute in a most active manner towards the country's socio-economic development, through the creation of new legal means which can be adaptable to the dynamic verified in the country.

This viewpoint was expressed this week in Huambo City, by Minister of Transports Augusto da Silva Tomas, when speaking at conclusion of national seminar on restructuring of system of roads transports and logistical policies.

According to the Minister, it is already being carried out in every public transports sub-sector an intense intervention at all levels with the objective of updating and modernising its respective professionals.

Augusto Tomás assured that all the efforts are being made so that soon the sector can start on the phase of implementing its strategy.

The referred strategy, stressed, comprises various legal actions which will assist and also promote sustainable development in transports sector, be that in airway, roads, railways and maratime.

The National Seminar on restructuring of system of roads and logistical policies examined the sector's problems, as well as have defined strategies for its development.
