Luanda — The Confederation of African Football (CAF) chairman, Issa Hayatou, was impressed by Cabassango Olympic village, in Cabinda Province, where it will be accommodated national teams which will compete in the African soccer championship (CAN2010).
During the inspection made last Sunday to Cabinda Province to assess the pace of the works on the main stadium and the support one, as well as hotel units, the Cameroonian citizen manifested his surprise at finding a building with capacity to accommodate four teams.
After having entered in one of the residences, out of the 150 existing ones, Issa Hayatou was pleased with what he saw and did not need to visit the rest of the compartments, following explanations from members of the organising committee (COCAN).
In the end, COCAN's spokesman, Manuel Mariano, said that CAF's chairman has compared Cabassango village with those built in South Africa and Mali, considering it bigger and with greater quality.
He explained that the four national teams expected to play in the country's northern province will can count on 25 residences for accommodation.
