Uganda:Tornado Look to Stretch League Lead

Defending champions Tornado will be in a no holds barred mood when they take on winless Rounders in a Castle Lager Premier League (Super Seven) fixture today at Lugogo oval.

Tornado have made light work against all opposition in their first three fixtures and Rounders will need a miracle of marginal proportions to stop the high-riding holders who seem to be on a roll-coaster despite losing a couple of stars at the beginning of this season.

Captain Keith Legesi told Sunday Monitor that his team was 'too good' for the Jinja-based side and maximum points would be garnered without much sweat when they face-off at the home of cricket in Uganda.

"Look at our side and see what we have got. The gulf in class and level of cricket between the two sides is big. My players like Nehal (Bibodi), Benzo (Benjamin Musoke), Franco (Nsubuga) and Waiswa (Charles) cannot be compared to any of Rounders' players," boasted Legesi.

"If I win the toss, I will opt to field first and give my young bowlers like Mujaasi Martin some overs to bowl. We have to restrict them to a small score and then chase down the target. It's the only way we can win easily," he added. Written off as an outfit of mish-mash players, Rounders could spring a sweet surprise if their skipper Narinder Singh fires.
