Asmara — The biggest asset of a nation is its manpower for human being is behind every innovational drive and advancement. Such an asset is usually measured not by its quantity, but rather its quality. And hence, it is more desirable if the composition of manpower of a given nation is made up of the youth.
Speaking from this perspective, Eritrea is fortunate. The Eritrean youth are unique when compared to the youth of other countries, as Eritreans are armed with a definite objective and aim, endowed with societal norms and merits, are prescient and visionary and above all dedicated towards working for the betterment of their country.
Generally, the mind of an Eritrean youth deals with sophisticated level of consciousness; an Eritrean would always entertain issues such as self betterment, what career to acquire, how to help his or her household and family most of all how he or she can be of service to their country.
It is a great asset to have such a generation of youth in a time in which many societies are riled by problems such as drug abuse among many other worrying trends. And this is a product of concerted efforts on part of the Government, parents, schools as well as the society in shaping the youth.
Eritrean parents raise their children in a responsible manner not because they want some kind of compensation, but rather because they want their children to be ready mentally as well as physically to face tomorrow themselves. The Government of Eritrea also on its part has taken up a responsibility to shape and is making a huge investment on the youth.
For the government aspires for the Eritrean youth to become self-reliant, developed and educated.
The secret behind development is being ready to work as well as owning discipline and organizational capacity. And since the Eritrean youth have already acquired those particular traits, thus, it could be inferred that they are already equipped with the preconditions to development.
Our past has shown the power of being organized and united. And therefore, Eritrean Youth, who have taken up this legacy and have shown that they are creditable with the feats that the Eritrean youth are accomplishing in the line of the nation building process, stands witness to the fact that they are worthy. Praise be to the Eritrea Youth, armed with merits and values and who are the source of pride.
