Rwanda: Benin Calling for Kung Fu Team

Kigali — THE national Kung fu team has been invited to take part in the second African wushu championship slated for August in Coton-Benin.

Although it will be the second outing for other countries, Rwanda will be making a debut appearance.

Ahead of the championship, the president of the National Kung fu federation Yassin Mubarak Uramukiye is optimistic the team will put up a good show at the competition.

"I'm quite confident that the team will not disappoint us in Benin. We have been staging so many local tournaments so we know that the team is in good shape," Uramukiye said.

Rwanda intends to field a team of sixteen members; eight boys and eight girls. Benin also staged the first edition of the championship last year.
