Nigeria: Edo Awards N905 Million Landscape Contracts

Abuja — Edo Government has awarded N905.6 million contracts for the beautification and landscaping of Benin metropolis. A statement issued by Mr John Mayaki, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to governor Adams Oshiomhole in Benin said the contracts were awarded to Home Office and Garden Ltd and Kiosque Vegetal Ltd.

The firms are to beautify Sakponba Road, Kings Square, Sapele Road, Akpakpava and Oba Market Road. The main focus of the beautification project included hard and soft landscaping, greening of both sides of roads within Benin and construction of concrete or interlocking pavement or walkways, it stated.

According to the statement, it also involves installing new street lights, street light retrofitting for Akpakpava Road, road markings and paint work, and solar studs electricity generating set as alternative power source.

Also involved are one year mechanical and electrical maintenance, supply of diesel, and provision of public toilet, bus shelter, boreholes and grass tendering for six months.
