Kampala — If what was witnessed at the launch of 'Songs of Paradise' anthology written by Principal Judge of Uganda, Justice Ogoola is anything to go by, then Uganda may cease to be regarded a literary desert.
The launch ceremony was attended by 'who is who' in Uganda in all spheres, including those who are understood not to have literary juices but had to attend to be seen being part of it. Within two hours, the book had been sold out, at a cost of UShs25,000 (about US$12.5). It is the first of its kind in Uganda for a book launch to attract such people. It is hoped they read and enjoy the book rather than it being a stunt to be seen at the occasion.
