Tanzania will host this year's East and Central African volleyball clubs championship that will start on August 12 in Moshi.
Tanzania Amateur Volleyball Association (TAVA) secretary general George John said yesterday they were working on renovation of important venues.
"We are progressing well with renovation perhaps in two weeks or so everything will be perfect," said John.
Kenya hosted the previous championship in Nairobi and Kenya City Council (KCC) fought bravely to clinch the trophy.
The official said they were looking forward to hosting over 25 teams that would come from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.
Both Rwanda and Burundi will be making their second appearances in the coveted regional event after being included in the East African Community.
Other countries that are expected to line up their troops include Seychelles, Djibouti, Eritrea, Sudan and Somalia.
"All teams confirmed participation verbally, so we are still waiting for them to confirm officially," he said.
Tanzanian teams, which are now gearing up for the regional events are Magereza, Jeshi Stars, JKT and Morogoro's Mzinga. They would compete in both men and women's disciplines.
The event takes place in various East and Central African countries rotationally and is supervised by the regional governing volleyball body, ECAVCO.
