Kampala — President Yoweri Museveni has congratulated Constance Kabonero over her elevation to the rank of Canon in the Church of Uganda. According to a statement from State House yesterday, Museveni described Kabonero, 76, as an instrumental person who assisted immigrants and local people in the fight against poverty.
"I wish the Canon a longer life to enable her share her numerous talents for the Glory of God and our country," Museveni said. Museveni and the First Lady recently visited Kabonero at her home in Ibaare village, Ntungamo district to congratulate her upon the elevation. Mrs. Museveni thanked God for the life of Canon Kabonero.â-‚
Kabonero is mother to Uganda's envoy to Rwanda, Richard Kabonero; Bob Kabonero, a Kampala businessman and Suzan Muhwezi, a presidential adviser.
