Angola:Show in Uíge City Brings Together Over Ten Thousand People

Uíge — Over 10,000 people turned up last weekend at a music-cultural show held at the Independence Square, marking the closing of the 92nd anniversary since the foundation of Uíge City.

The six-hour show, which was enlivened by Angolan musicians from Luanda, was attended by the provincial governor of Uíge, Mawete João Baptista, who expressed his satisfaction at the civility showed by the public.

The musicians included Wiza, Afro Man, Grupo Socorro, os Kongos, Os Bantu, Tata Ngana, Tuzayana, Vagabanda, Nagrelha, as well as the locally-based singers Amadeu Carodoso and Kitoco.

Uíge was raised to the category of city on 01 July 1917.
