Angola: Sociologist Stresses Bill Against Smoking in Public Places

Luanda — Sociologist Paulo de Carvalho on Tuesday here expressed his satisfaction at the approval by the Angolan government of the bill against the usage of tobacco in public areas, considering it a worthy instrument in the fight to the consequences of smoking in human organism.

In an interview to Angop, Paulo de Carvalho said that with such as initiative, the government solves problems of passive smokers, people that are the main victims of usage of tobacco in public locals.

"It is known that tobacco is not only bad for smokers, but also in a more acting way passive smokers, as they are more exposed to smoking inhalation", he said.

According to him, this bill will serve for passive smokers to avoid abandoning constantly working areas due to smoking, preventing them against illnesses resulting from tobacco usage.
