The Daily Observer's ongoing July 22 bus initiative, a series of newspaper publications highlighting achievements registered by this government since July 1994 across the length and breadth of the country, has been receiving commendation from across the country and beyond, both in words and in writing.
The latest came from Pa Musa Sanyang, widely known as APRC Political Guerrilla. Sanyang, who walked into the Daily Observer's offices, yesterday afternoon, had travelled all the way from his native Kuntaur in the Central River Region. He described the initiative as 'excellent' and a step in the right direction. The people, he said, have to know about the ongoing realities. "Therefore, your efforts in doing so are worthy of commendation."
Sanyang added: "This initiative has touched my heart to the extent that I had to travel all the way from my native village to commend the management and staff of the Daily Observer for their great sense of creativity in media work. The staff of the Daily Observer newspaper are well informed people who, I believe, should be aided in all ways." As the APRC youth leader in his area, Sanyang described the Daily Observer as a powerhouse in the provision of authentic and reliable information that always portrays the true picture of The Gambia.
"The Daily Observer has been very supportive of the developments of the current government since its advent in July 1994. I am really impressed with the work of the newspaper because you are maintaining your stance in enlightening the citizens about the developments registered by the revolution," posited the APRC Guerrilla, while describing the staff at the paper as patriotic citizens.
Enjoining the management and staff of the newspaper to keep up the momentum, Sanyang used the opportunity to commend the acting managing director of the Observer Company, Pa Malick Faye for spearheading the initiative, reiterating that it is a step in the right direction.
