WORKERS at the University of Zambia (Unza) have agreed register students while waiting for the university council's decision on their demands for increased salaries.
University of Zambia Professional Association chairperson, James Sitwala said yesterday that as at Friday last week, the workers and lecturers on go-slow had agreed to proceed with the registration.
He said that only workers involved in registration would work while the rest would stay away from work.
Mr Sitwala said the idea was to avoid a situation where students misused money meant for registration.
He, however, said that lecturers and other workers would be on-go slow, especially that they had not been paid their June salaries.
Chief Government Spokesperson, Ronnie Shikapwasha has said the Government is still waiting for advice from the university council.
