Botswana: Boko in Shock As Mystery Robbers Strike

Hardly a week after Joseph Piet, a witness to John Kalafatis's execution-style shooting, was robbed, Kalafatis' family lawyer Duma Boko is the latest victim of the mystery robberies hitting people related to the case.

Without fiddling with the electronic gate or vandalising the door, the robbers broke into Boko's Tlokweng house and made away with a P16, 000 television set.

"I was woken up by shattering glass only to find the kitchen door wide open," Boko said yesterday.

Boko said he was surprised that the culprits were able to break into his house without tampering with the gate or vandalising the house's door to enter. Boko said that he was still in a state of shock.

"I am unable to ascribe suspicion to anyone until investigations are complete," the lawyer said.

In an interview with Mmegi, Tlokweng Police Station commander, Superintendent Lebang Maniki said the matter had not reached his desk adding that he hoped to get the details by tomorrow (today).

Last week Piet was robbed of copies of witness statements when burglars broke into his house and fled the scene with a file. The file contained a copy of the statement he made to the police soon after Kalafatis was shot and killed by men believed to be state intelligence agents.
