FORTY SIX countries have confirmed their participation in the Confederation of African Athletics Super Grand Prix scheduled for July 18 in Abuja.
Maria Wophil, scribe of the AFN, said yesterday in Abuja that some of the countries whose athletes have confirmed coming to Abuja include USA, Germany, England, France, Barbados, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and several other top athletics nations from Europe and Africa.
"We have received entries from managers of these top athletes since last weekend. More countries are still making inquiries on how to key in and be part of the Grand Prix here in Abuja," observed the AFN scribe.
Some of the events listed to be competed for at the one-day programme include, Men: 100m, 400m, 110mh, 800m, 5000m, javelin, L/Jump, Triple/jump, 4Ã-100m and 4Ã-400m. The women are also going to compete for honours in 100m, 400m, 1500m, 100mh, shot put, L/ jump, h/ jump, 4Ã-100m and 4Ã-400m.
