Kwara State Governor, Dr. Bukola Saraki is leading members of the Ilorin Central Mosque Committee to Lebanon on a four-day official visit to Hariri Grand Mosque, Beirut.
The delegation, while in Lebanon, will hold discussion with Architect Azmi Fakhouri, who is the lead architect that worked on the Hariri Mosque, the biggest and most modern mosque in Lebanon.
The essence of the visit is to enable the team adopt an acceptable interior concept for the Ilorin Central Mosque to fast-track the process of making it a world leading Islamic Standard Mosque.
In the entourage of Governor Saraki is Architect Mohammed Faworaja, the lead architect for Ilorin Central Mosque who will interact with Architect Azim who has also been commissioned to come up with an interior concept for the mosque in two months.
It will be recalled that about two weeks ago, eminent Islamic scholars, captains of industries and other personalities of note converged in Ilorin for the N1.5 billion fund raising ceremony for the rehabilitation and expansion of the Central Mosque.
