Ilorin — Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) Tuesday called on the Federal Government to come to the aid of local manufacturing industries in the area of reduction in the multiple taxation and tariffs being paid every year.

MAN Chairperson in Kwara State, Princess Omolola Olobayo, said this in Ilorin, yesterday, during a courtesy call to Commissioner for Industry and Solid Minerals, Alhaji Adamu Gene, in his office.

She said, "there is no doubt that the Association has remained a major factor in the realisation of the Seven-Point Agenda of the present administration. All hands must be on deck to compliment government efforts in the task."

She said local manufacturing industries have been at the vanguard of socio economic growth of the country and the only way to assist them is for government to reduce the multiple taxation and tariffs being paid every year.

Olobayo said by the time this is achieved, the propensity of MAN to produce in large quantities for the teeming markets would be realised and this would go a long way to stimulate the nation's economy.

Earlier, Gene said the state government would continue to work with MAN, in order to accelerate its industrial growth.
