Lagos — Nigeria plan a friendly against either Algeria or Morocco to prepare for their win-or-bust World Cup tie against Tunisia coming up on September 6 in Abuja.
Showing lots of awareness over the battle for the single ticket of the Group B Africa qualifier series, Taiwo Ogunjobi, Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical committee said: "We have got to the crucial stage of this war for the ticket with the match against Tunisia in Abuja. So we have got to be very serious. So, we are planning a friendly against Algeria or Morocco in Abuja before the Tunisia game. We have to do everything possible to ensure that Nigeria pick the ticket to the 2010 World Cup."
"Eagles coach, Shaibu Amodu, has asked for an African opposition ahead of the Tunisia game, while the NFF already have a proposal for the team to take on Uruguay in London in August.
Tunisia lead the group with seven points from three matches, while Nigeria are second in the standings with five points. Kenya are third on three points and Mozambique bottom with a point. Only the overall winner of this group will qualify for next year's World Cup in South Africa.
