Abuja — Sporting Lisbon of Portugal star, Rabiu Ibrahim has expressed his readiness for the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup which holds in Egypt later in the year.
The Flying Eagles midfielder who is expected to fly out with the team to Qatar yesterday, said playing in the U-20 FIFA World Cup will be a dream come true in his young career.
"I have played in the African Championship and it is my dream to also play in the World Cup. I have told my coach in Portugal and other officials that I want to go to the junior World Cup and they are giving me all the support," said the diminutive midfielder.
"I took permission from my club to be here (Nigeria) for the World Cup preparation and I am happy with what is happening in camp. Everybody is really working hard because there are lots of players here who want to go to the World Cup.
"The day I met coach Samson Siasia, I was really happy with the way he received me and right from that moment, I said he's the type of coach any player would be happy to play under".
Ibrahim who scored a spectacular goal during the African Youth Championship in Kigali, Rwanda early in the year, also looks forward to make the final list to the FIFA World Cup.
"I will definitely do my best to make the team to Egypt," he said.
