Angola:Opposition PRS Presents Bill On Future Constitution

Luanda — The Bill on the coming constitution, proposed by the Social Renewal Party (PRS) was presented on Tuesday here to the members of the Constitutional Commission, Angop has learnt.

The 164-article document, says that Angola is a federative republic constituted by an union of federated indivisible and inviolable states, having as geographic limits the current borders.

In the political organisation, PRS bill proposes as organs of sovereignty the President of the Republic, the National Assembly, the Government and the courts.

It also defines the Government as the superior organ of the public administration and leads the country's general politics, being responsible before the President of the Republic and the National Assembly in matters set by the current constitution.

According to the document, the Premier is the head of government and should be nominated by the President of the Republic, under a proposal of the party that wins the elections, with an opinion of other parties represented in the parliament.
