Kampala — UNKNOWN investors have fenced off what remains of Kololo SSS sports ground despite protests from the schools officials.
Complaints to Kampala City Council have gone unheeded, and reports say a hospital is about to be constructed in the carved off land.
One of the Kololo teachers said that he was surprised last Monday to see men demarcating the school land that has the play ground into pieces, and reported the case to police.
"I ran and reported to Kira Road police, who came and stopped these men from fencing off the land. But I was surprised the next day when they retuned and put up a fence through the centre of the volleyball and netball courts," the teacher narrated.
Kololo earlier lost land to another investor, now the site of the Kingston Signature Home company.
"We are only seeing the land being fenced but don't know who is doing it," another teacher said.
"We are just workers, who don't even know where the titles are kept. What we did is to report the matter to our bosses the school board and the ministry. But we see work continuing," she explained.
