He was commissioned last Tuesday by the Minister of State, Minister of Transport.
Within the context of modernising and liberalising the economy, the government had to conceive and put in place new measures that would boost the maritime and ports sectors. This, with the involvement of economic operators to ensure efficiency in transportation, which constitute a major source of development within the sub region. It is within this backdrop that on Tuesday, July 7, while commissioning the new Director General (GM) of the National Port Authority Josue Youmba, the Minister of State, Minister of Transport, Bello Bouba Maigari, took time to stress on the importance of the National Port Authority and the function of the new Director General.
Josue Youmba amongst other things will be expected to follow strategic projects like the Kribi and Limbe deep seaports. "You must take initiative, anticipate and be on alert so as to accomplish your mission" Minister of State Bello Bouba Maigari told the new director general. Josue Youmba was also told not to be afraid of the problems that the National Port Authority has faced but that those problems should rather serve as springboard for better results. That is why Josue Youmba, the Minister said, must judiciously manage the port so as to come up with new mechanisms through which money could be raised to effectively run the organisation.
Born 56 years ago in Logmbougue, Ndom Sub-Division, Sanaga-Maritine Division in the Littoral Region, the new GM of the National Port Authority had held several post of responsibility. He has been chief of service, inspector, director in the Ministry of Transport. He holds a diploma in Maritime Affairs from Bordeaux, France. Married with four children, Josue Youmba is also the Mayor of Ndom Council.
