Angola: Governor Announces Construction of Multi-Purpose Fields in Luanda

Luanda — Two multi-purpose fields shall be built by the government of Luanda this year in the districts of Kilamba Kiaxi and Ingombota, in the light of the programme of occupying youths' spare times.

The information was disclosed to the press on Wednesday by the governor of the country's capital (Luanda), Francisca do Espírito Santo, after the inauguration ceremony of two sports fields at Neves Bendinha ward, Kilamba Kiaxi district.

Governor Francisca do Espírito Santo referred that the Chinese firm "China Jiang Su" that built the courts will also be in charge of building two courts in Bairro Popular ward (Kilamba Kiaxi) and in Camuxiba ward (Ingombota district), since youths are demanding more sports fields.

"At the moment, the government of Luanda is receiving letters from youths from various wards urging the local government to build more sports grounds", she stressed.

To Francisca do Espírito Santo, these requests are good because it shows that youths are interested in participating in recreational and sports activities.
