IN ORDER to support the government in her bid to ensure quality teaching and learning delivering in the country, 3 Square Meals, an Accra-based and duly registered non-governmental organisation (NGO), has donated several educational materials to the Densuano Municipal Assembly (MA) Basic School in Koforidua.

The items include teachers' cupboards, school uniforms, books, boxes of pencils and pens, boxes of chalks, drinking cups, and plates among others, running into thousands of Ghana cedis.

The NGO was founded with the sole aim of finding solutions, and bringing an end to hunger and poverty, which have been a major headache to many families and communities, particularly deprived ones in the country.

It also aims at identifying critical issues in deprived communities, and tackling them with real time solutions.

Speaking to the Eastern File at the presentation ceremony on the school premises, the Executive Director (ED) of the NGO, Madam Jennifer Abigail Odei, intimated that for a better world, free of hunger and poverty, a holistic approach ought to be adopted in lieu of a piece meal approach.

According to her, change would only be achieved when Ghanaians uphold responsibility as an agent of change, and dedicated citizens with good will and charitable spirits to overturn bad situations to better ones in our various communities.

"Even though there may be stumbling blocks along the way, we have to make a conscious effort to turn these stumbling blocks into stepping stones to reach progressive heights," she underscored.

Touching on what drew her to form the NGO, she explained that the establishment was a childhood idea and desire to make a difference in the community, with the vision of transforming poor and distressed individuals, groups and communities to become self-sufficient.

The objectives of the group, according to her, covers areas such as agriculture, health and social responsibilities, with the pre-judgment that substantial and sustainable impact in the lives of children, individuals, families and communities would be the ultimate goal.
