Angola: Navy Celebrates 33rd Anniversary Friday in Lobito

Luanda — The central act of the Angolan Navy (MGA)'s 33 years of existence takes place on Friday, in Lobito City's naval base, in the coastal Benguela Province.

Founded on 10th July 1976, Angolan Navy has the mission to guarantee defence of national waters, according to the principles of national defence.

The creation of this important sector of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) happened at a time when the then Head of State, António Agostinho Neto, led the ceremony to proclaim the designated Navy.

The programme of the event includes a speech from the chairperson of the act, demonstration of operative tactics, military parade and handing over of trophies to clubs of the institution.
