Kampala — URA FC coach Moses Basena has said that his team will be challenged to beat KCC FC's achievement in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup when they represent the country at the continental stage next year.
The Ugandan champions return to the continental scene after winning this year's title but Basena told journalists yesterday that his target will be to beat KCC's second round achievement in the Champions League.
"KCC has set the bar high and it will be difficult for us but we hope to set our bar higher to beat their achievement," Basena explained in Kampala. Basena was speaking after URA FC got the uganda telecom-USPA sports personality award for June in Kampala yesterday.
They collected 705 votes to beat lone challengers SC Villa (625 votes) on Monday. The marketing and communications manager of uganda telecom Emmy Olaki, handed over the award to Basena.
Basena hailed the firm and USPA for recognising their achievement.
URA played in the 2006 Confederations Cup and lost to El Merriekh of Sudan in the first round and in the early stages of the CAF Champions League in 2007.
