Uganda: German Coach Coming

Kampala — GERMAN track and field coach Lange Gunter returns to Uganda for another two-year stint that will see him help sports bodies professionalize management and organisation.

His return was secured yesterday through the Uganda-German technical cooperation.

The Germany government will cater for Gunter's salary, flight costs, car and other related costs.

Their Ugandan counterparts will provide him an office, programme, two assistants, one office worker, driver for long journeys and make sure that there is a minimum of three courses and three workshops every year.

The agreement was signed by education ministry permanent secretary Francis Lubanga and German Ambassador Rehard Bucholz.

Gunter, who was in Uganda two years ago, will help train athletics coaches across the country.
