Kampala — The bank, in partnership with Water Aid, Caritas, BIRUDEAS and Divine Waters, commissioned several water tanks and VIP latrines in Arua and Lira districts in an effort to stop deaths from cholera.
Nsibirwa said the intervention was part of the bank's corporate effort to raise awareness about hygiene and sanitation among communities living in high-risk areas.
Communities in Ozua Cell in Arua Municipality and Adyel Division on the outskirts of Lira town are some of the beneficiaries of 25-ferro-cement water tanks that harvest rain water and several VIP communal toilets valued at several million shillings. Nsibirwa said their three-year partnership with WaterAid had transformed the lives of communities through provision of safe water
