Kampala — Although a stern test awaits Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) on the courts when their International Memorial tournament takes centre stage at Lugogo Indoor and Namboole stadiums this weekend, the organisers can breathe a sigh of relief.
National Social Security Fund (NSSF) yesterday offered a Shs20m package for the 13th edition of the international tournament dubbed 'KAVC MEM'. The event will coincide with the club's 39th year of existence.
"Although it is part of our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) to give back to the community in which we operate, we also target to help the youth improve their talents and compete at a more competitive level," said NSSF's deputy chief marketing and communications officer Miriam Lumonya.
KAVC president Bob Ewange and Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) head Sadik Nassiwu received the dummy cheque from Lumonye at a press gathering.
