The opposition is seeking legal interpretation of the Kampala City takeover Bill
The Kampala Capital City Bill, recently tabled before Parliament by the Local Government Minister, gives leeway to government to administer the city.
Sources that attended a closed-door meeting at Parliament yesterday said the MPs tasked Kampala MP Erias Lukwago to work with a team of lawyers to analyse the new Bill and advise them accordingly.
Terego County MP Kassiano Wadri confirmed to Daily Monitor that a team of lawyers would scrutinise the Bill and report back to them.
The Lands Minister,Mr Omara Atubo, accused the Opposition of misleading Ugandans by saying the new Bill is a ploy by the government to grab people's land.
