Kano — Kano State government has approved release of N1.3billion for re-construction of four urban roads. Addressing reporters after state executive council meeting, Commissioner for Information, Haruna Dederi, said the roads include the Sharada main road to Sabuwar Madina, at the cost of N134, 755,652.3k, Kwanar Madugu-Western By-Pass, at the cost of N587,533,095,78, Mandawari-Kwanar Goda, at the cost of N185,479,129.00 and Kofar Ruwa-Sabuwar Gwammaja-Federal Secretariat, N166,307, 929.083k.
Dederi said the council has also approved barricading of three major roads at the cost of N56, 385,625, to prevent erection of illegal structures and ensure general cleanliness. He said the roads are Gidan Murtala-BUK road, Aminu Kano Way to Dala Orthopaedic Hospital and Zaria road, saying work will start from Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, to Federal Government College, Kano.
On ICT development projects in the state, the state has identified a partner under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) in Micro Access Nigeria Ltd, under which the council has approved the sum of N473, 731,272.05k as the state's counterpart funding, adding that the ICT Park will be commissioned before the end of the year.
