Kano — Heavy windstorm has destroyed over 30 houses and their inhabitants rendered homeless in Tudun Wadar Madobi, in Madobi Local Government Area of Kano State.
The windstorm, which also damaged some of the houses beyond recognition, according to an eyewitness, Mallam Dauda Talle, wreaked the havoc in the town last Saturday, before the start of a heavy down pour in the area.
Although no report of injury or loss of life had been recorded, the incident resulted in total destuction of houses affected.
Explaining the incident, one of the victims, Abdullahi Bala, described the disaster as a great tragedy, saying many of them have no means to repair their houses. Bala also urged the state government and Madobi Local Government Council, to as a matter of urgency, come to their aid.
