Luanda — The minister of Science and Technology, Maria Cândida Teixeira, said Thursday in Luanda she was satisfied with her visit to the National Fishing Research Institute (INIP).
Speaking to the press after the visit, the minister said she found a great evolution, both in equipment and functioning.
According to the official, with Government assistance, the institution has greatly evolved, despite some constraints.
Maria Cândida said the visit was intended to strengthen relations between the ministries of Fisheries and Science and Technology, and learn about INIP functioning.
She said she was greatly impressed with the number of young personnel working for the institute.
In his turn, INIP acting technical director, Ncosi Buyeye, the general goals of the institution include the improvement of the basis of reconnaissance of the aquatic and biotic environment, coupled with human activity.
The leading staff of the National Fishing Research Institute is made up of 43 scientists (holders of BA, Ma and PHD degrees).
It has established cooperation with South Africa, Mozambique, São Tomé and Principe, Cape Verde and Namibia.
