After dodging the press for interviews, Young African's FC Public Relation Officer Dodou Darboe on Sunday put the record straight.
Speaking to journalists at the stadium, Dodou said they have decided to suspend all interviews after their game with Jambanjelly because the coaches were castigating their players instead of talking about the technical lapses that went wrong in the game.
"The executive of the team decided to stop all the interviews that the coaches were given out because the thing is that, instead of talking about the technical matters, they always attack their own players, they should talk about technicalities that went wrong in the game" he said.
"I believe they should defend the players, but instead when they lost they would say "Player B plays wotu darr." That's why we temporarily stopped."
Darboe however informed the press that in their meetings on Saturday, they have decided to lift the ban; hence it is not nice when other teams are granting interviews and they are not.
He disclosed that they have even changed their coach and the team manager Ousainou Darboe is now in charge. And that's why according to him they have performed well in the last games of the second division league.
According to Young African's PRO, they could have qualified had their pre-season training been correct. "Our pre-season was not correct due to late preparation but when we realize our standing in the league; we knew we were in trouble, because at that time we were third from the bottom. The team was not performing well. We decided to change the coach and the players and we have sponsors now."
Dodou Darboe informed the press that Young Africans' players are now receiving monthly allowances. "They are highly motivated and that is why they are performing this way. "We are ready now. We beat the last year's league and the FA cup champions and 2009 champions. Who can stop us"? he asked.
