Mbeya posted a 5-4 victory over Mara in the ongoing Copa Coca-Cola Under-17 Championship played yesterday at the National Stadium.

Mbeya kicked off the match impressively and scored their first goal in the 15th minute through Matala Mbalama who connected Stelius Julius' pass.

Nine minutes later, Daniel Keneth threaded the ball skilfully to Asili Mkondya who unleashed a powerful strike to give Mbeya the second goal.

Mara fought hard to unlock Mbeya's defence, but the winners went to the breather leading 2-0.

Barely a minute into the second half, Mwemezi Hamisi outpaced Mbeya's defenders before passing the ball to Daniel John who scored easily.

However, Mbeya responded swiftly with a counterattack and Mkondya slammed home the third goal for the southern highlands team.

Mara continued to send a series of shock waves, which paid off in the 50th minute when Paul Malengo scored to reduce the margin to 3-2.

In the 53rd minute, Mwanezi Rajabu capitalised on Mbeya's goalkeeping blunder to score their third goal before adding the forth goal in 60th minute.
