Luanda — Angola should seize the opportunity of its participation at the ongoing G8 Summit to put forward its development projects, ambitions and ways to achieve them for discussion.
This was said by the bishop of the "Nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo no Mundo" Church (Tocoista), Afonso Nunes.
He was speaking to Angop, commenting on the participation of Angola at the G8 Summit taking place in L'Aquila, Rome, Italy, since Wednesday.
According to the church leader, this is a great achievement that must be praised, expressed the hope that other such initiatives come about so that when the country grows it could be considere.
"I think that when the group grows to 20 or 40, according to the circumstances that may happen in future, Angola must take part, as this is a way of us to win knowledge and contribute to the development of the continent", he said.
"We want Angola to contribute to the African continent, thus preventing brain drain", said the churchman who praised the participation of the head of State in the summit closing on Friday.
The G-8 groups the main powers of the world like the US, Japan, Germany, Canada, France, Italy, UK and Russia.
The group was earlier on named G7, a designation that changed with the admission of Russia in 1997.
