Premier golf club Achimota is to have a GH¢250,00 two terrace club house with changing rooms, cocktail bar, restaurant, open terrace and other modern facilities to befit the club which marks its 75th anniversary in October this year.

A sod cutting ceremony to mark commencement of refurbishing works of the project was performed last Wednesday at the fore-court of the club house by Capt. (Rtd.) K.A. Butah, chairman of the Diamond Jubilee planning committee and Vice President of Achimota golf club.

The project is to be funded by the club with Netlynk, a construction firm, providing technical support. Captain of the club, Mike Aggrey, in an introductory speech said the refurbishing project has become necessary to cap 75 years of the club's achievement and give a fitting face lift of the status of Ghana's most celebrated golf club.

He said he and his committee were optimistic that the climax of the Diamond jubilee celebration on October 25 would be held at the club's "new premises" with his Excellency President JEA Mills as the Guest of Honour.
