There is only a slim chance of survival for drivers and commuters who ply their trade on the Obawale-Somanya road, if the city authorities fail to rectify a damaged bridge which links the community to Somanya.
The cave-in on the bridge has taken almost one-third of it, leaving just a small portion for motorists to use.
The situation could be described as death trap, due to the fact that the little mistake or impatience on the part of any driver, particularly drivers who are not conversant with the road, could lead to a fatal accident.
Residents of the community, which lies east -west of the Yilo Krobo District Assembly, and are mainly peasant farmers, were of the view that any little delay on the part of the Assembly to check the imminent danger, would deepen their already harsh economic condition, since they would not have access to transport their farm produce.
Drivers and commuters who ply their trade on that section of the road have launched their appeal to the Yilo Krobo District Assembly, to rise up to the occasion to prevent any future fatality.
