Eritrea: Asmara Public Library Striving to Provide Efficient Service to Readers

Asmara — The Asmara Public Library is striving to provide efficient service to the public through addressing its shortcomings, according to Mr. Ephrem Matiwos, manager of the library.

He indicated that the public library is meeting reader's demands through introducing internet service and new books thanks to the investment made by the Administration of the Central region. Stating that there are over 2,000 customers of the library from different walks of life, Mr. Ephrem pointed out that preparations have already been finalized to introduce electronic work procedure in the activities of the library.

He went on to say that the library is equipped with various up-to-dated academic and reference books, as well as timely magazines. There are also plans to open library for children in the near future through introducing new books, Mr. Ephrem added.
