Like lambs to the slaughter, the sadness on the faces of most of the contestants last Tuesday was an ungodly sight to behold, all in the name of eviction!!!
Normally, the ride to the National Theatre for performances is characterised with music, either in unison or solo, from any of the contestants to ease down tensions before the performance, however that atmosphere was not present during eviction rides to the Theatre.
All ten remaining contestants were dead silent in the bus on the way to the venue, and all that could be heard was absolutely nothing, not even the usual funny comments and chit chats that take place.
Each individual was engaged in their own thoughts, and they just could not bring themselves to have any conversations - it was obvious they wished they never got to the Theatre - thus when they arrived Luigy could not help but exclaim "so soon we have arrived!"
With all set to keep the ball rolling, the host divided the ten contestants into two groups - this made them wonder which of the groups would have in it the bottom three.
Was it the group with Bertha, Enoch, Lilian, Nyaniba and Pearl? Or the other group that included Daniel, Luigy, Akosua, Rose, and,Christain as group members, but if there is anything the Host of the eviction, Joslyn, knows how to do, then it is to ease their tensions.
Asking questions and interacting with each one must have calmed down their nerves, though the reason for the night commenced, anyway.
Unfortunately, finding themselves in the bottom three this week, were some members of Bertha's group, which included herself, Enoch and Lilian, while Pearl and Nyaniba were are asked to join the other party.
The other group, which had three contestants coming out as a potential golden moment award winner, was beaming with smiles, including Akosuo, Christian and Rose.
The bottom three nominees had no idea who was leaving the competition, yet they each wobbled all over, and fidgeted with their hands, a reaction to the uncomfortable position they found themselves in.
As they watched a playback of their performances last Friday, including the comments from the judges, one could have sworn from the looks on their faces, they each thought they had exhibited their best.
First to escape narrowly, was Lilian, and she heaved a sight of relief; next to follow was Enoch, nevertheless he was reminded by the host of a comment by one of the judges on how he was becoming too over-confident.
Before it dawned on her, she was left standing alone, it was obvious that Bertha's rendition of Thriller by the pop icon, Michael Jackson, coupled with her dance steps, did not fetch the votes she needed to remain in the house.
"All of you give Bertha a hug," was what the host said, and hugs from her competitors, who she now calls friends, made her breakdown in tears, it was not until the host continued her sentence, "because she is going back to the house with you," that she realised it was a close call!
The third night of eviction for the Stars of the Future season was a no eviction night, because it was in dedication to the late King of Pop, Micheal Jackson, and apparently each contestant gave out their best during their performances.
