International brewing giant SABMiller Plc is planning an eight fold increase in output at its Pabod Breweries in Port Harcourt by next year.
Business Day reports the London-based company is also seeking additional acquisitions in Nigeria. SABMiller last year acquired 70% of Pabod.
Johan de Kok, managing director of the SABMiller's Nigerian unit says the Pabod plant currently produces 30,000 hectolitres and that the company's target is to produce 250,000 hectolitres by February 2010.
Since its Pabod acquisition, SABMiller has reintroduced brands such as Grand Lager and Grand Malt in Nigeria.
