Kigali — FOOTBALL fans can be sure to witness a gripping finish to the national women league after Saturday's results. AS Kigali and APR ensured that the title fight remained a two-horse race after their compelling wins.

AS Kigali, who still have two-games in hand thumped Bugesera 4-0 while reigning champions and league leaders APR trounced La Charite 6-0.

The results meant that APR stayed five points clear of AS Kigali, who are chasing for their first league title. APR, who had scored 20 goals heading into Saturday's tie made no mistake as they put six goals past La Charite's shaky defense side at Kicukiro.

Annet Nakimbungwe, Hyacinthe Uwingeneye and Aime Flora Uwimana scored APR's goals. The military side has now scored a record sixty six goals in only fifteen league matches.

"We are happy to be scoring a lot of goals. It shows that the whole team is in good form," APR's coach Egidia Kayitesi said.
