Sumbe — Visiting German MPs Thursday in Quibala, central Kwanza Sul province, expressed satisfaction at the way funds from their country are being used in various social projects in the region.
The satisfaction was expressed by the head of the delegation of the group of friendship to the countries of the Africa Development Community (SADC), Maria Eichhorn, at the end of a visit to various projects being carried out by German NGOs and enterprises.
She said on the occasion that with such projects, the German Government intends to create conditions of their own sustainability, opening access to the inland regions of the country, thus facilitating the flow of people and goods towards the development of Angola.
The official said her delegation was impressed with the way the resources released by the German Government are being used in the construction of roads and creation of conditions for other structuring measures to be adopted in the long run.
In the trip to the province the German MPs delegation was accompanied by members of the 3rd commission of the National Assembly (Angolan Parliament), that deals with matters concerning external relations.
The commission's first secretary, Alice Dombolo, considered as positive the work being carried out by German NGOs and enterprises.
The global amount from the German credit line for Angola, under partnership accords signed, stands at two billion Euros in the first phase, aimed at the implementation of social projects.
The commission secretary said as well the visit of the German MPs has also aimed at strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries and analysing and identifying other areas of partnership within the process of development and reconstruction underway in Angola.
In Kwanza Sul, the delegation visited the Orthopaedic Centre, in Gabela city, under the German Technical Cooperation Agency (GTZ).
The team also visited a motorbike-taxi project, jointly implemented with the Institute for Reintegration of Ex-militaries (IRSEM), where computers courses are being run.
The visiting MPs have also visited the Quissama National Park, in northern Bengo province and met with the National Assembly speaker, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, with the first vice speaker, João Lourenço, with the Health minister, Jose Van-Dunem, the deputy Foreign minister and members of some commissions of the Parliament.
The delegation is visiting the south-western Namibe province, before leaving for South Africa.
