Luanda — The ambassador of São Tomé and Príncipe to Angola, Armindo Fernandes, Friday in Luanda, expressed the support of his country to the Angolan national team of football during the African Cup of Nations (CAN2010) the country will host.
Speaking to Angop, the diplomat said he has been following closely the preparation of the event, which involves the construction of stadiums, roads and hotels, stressing that Angola has given evidence of its capacity to respond to the challenge.
Armindo Fernandes said he was sure of the performance of the national team in the competition, wishing it to go smoothly to the joy of the peoples of Angola and São Tome.
On the other hand, he regret the fact that his country is not taking part in the competition.
The CAN2010 will take place from January 10-31 in the provinces of Luanda, Cabinda, Benguela and Huíla.
