Uganda: Trade Minister Urges On Cooperatives

Kampala — TOURISM, Trade and Industry minister Maj.Gen. Kahinda Otafiire has urged Ugandans to use cooperatives in the recovery of the economy. Otafiire said cooperatives have shown capacity to provide vital health, housing and finance services.

He added that they have also promoted education and gender equality, the environment and workers rights.

The information was contained in a speech read for him by tourism state minister Serapio Rukundo during the celebrations of International Day of Cooperatives at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara recently.
