Kampala — RWANDA has appointed Maj. Gen. Frank Mugambage its new ambassador to Uganda. Mugambage who has been director of Cabinet in the President's office, replaces Ignatius Kamali Karegyesa who moves to Pretoria, South Africa.
The Rwandan cabinet made the changes in a June 29, 2009 meeting.
Mugambage was previously the Police chief and principal private secretary to President Paul Kagame.
A source at the Rwandan embassy said Kigali was waiting communication from Kampala accepting the new envoy before Mugambage can present his credentials to President Yoweri Museveni.
Early this month, Rwanda awarded Museveni the country's highest medals in recognition of his contribution to its liberation and campaign against genocide.
