Angola: Portuguese 'Sol' Newspaper to Open Branch in Country in August

Luanda — The weekly Portuguese newspaper "Sol", based in Lisbon (Portugal), will open a branch in the Angolan capital city next August, starting an edition of about 4000 copies weekly of the mentioned publication.

The information was released this Saturday by the newspaper's director, José António Saraiva.

The newspaper has mostly Angolans as shareholders and deals with political, economic, social, cultural, technological and public interest matters.

The 46-page publication is actually already in the Angolan and Brazilian markets in a promotional manner, for the past two months.

ANGOP has learnt that this publication will be extended to other Portuguese speaking countries.

José António Saraiva also revealed that efforts are being made so that by the end of the year the newspaper be printed in Luanda, besides Lisbon.

"We are not just a Portuguese newspaper, we also publish news of public interest about the Portuguese speaking regions" he clarified.
