Kampala — RONALD Mayinja's 'Landlord Twakutegedde' album launch at Hotel Africana in Kampala last Friday can only be described as an electrifying and well-attended do.

The curtain-raisers were mind-blowing, to say the least.

But as the show progressed and the booze worked on some fans; the event turned into a big funfair. Good enough, there were few upcoming singers to waste much of the limited time.

The MTN-sponsored do kicked off at 7:00pm and ended a few minutes past midnight. However, it started in earnest when the Obsessions singers stepped on stage.

Their energetic dance performance captivated the crowd. After the Obsessions; singer Jose Chameleone and his back-up singer AK-47 took over.

As soon as he got on stage, fans went into a frenzy. His latest hit, Nkwagala Nyo, especially worked up the crowd. Ragga Dee was the last of the curtain-raisers.

Ronald Mayinja and the entire Eagles Production Band then stepped on stage. It was their second time singing as a group and it worked for them.

Twakutegedde, the only song that features all the male Eagles Production Band members, is an attack on a detractor bent on disrupting the group.

But the fun was in the way it was performed. Mayinja sang his old popular songs like Tulikubunkenke and Africa while moving around shaking hands with fans.

The enthusiastic fans returned the offer by waving handkerchiefs while dancing vigorously.

By the time he wound up his show, everyone was singing Landlord Twakutegedde.
