Angola: Businessman Advises DJs to Get Bank Loans

Luanda — Music businessman Afonso Quintas on Sunday urged Angolan disc jockeys (DJs) from nightclubs of Luanda and others to adhere to the USD 1,000 credit being granted by the "Made in Angola" music production firm.

Speaking to ANGOP about the monetary product launched on Friday, the businessman informed that this initiative aims at contributing to the importance of original CDs, especially to the Angolan music.

In a first phase, the loan dubbed "DJ Credit" will be granted to prominent DJs of nightclubs of the country's capital, Luanda.

In one month they will spend USD 1,000 purchasing products such as discs, audio and technological equipment and others available at shops of the "Made in Angola" and they should reimburse the credit within 30 days.

Afonso Quintas said that by purchasing CDs of Angolan musicians the DJs will benefit from a 10 percent discount.

This initiative aims at reduce piracy and improving the quality of DJs.

During Friday's ceremony, the DJs Malvado, Dias Rodrigues, Chuchu, Rui Gomes, Danger, Demolition, Jo ã o Linho, Capiro and Malvado J ú nior as well as the Dom Quixote and Maiombe nightclubs were part of the initiative.
