Arusha — The Arusha Wazee Sports Club maintained their invincibility in football when last Saturday they beat 2-0 the Tanzania Members of Parliament, Bunge Club, in Dodoma, the capital city of Tanzania.
The more than 40 Wazees who travelled to Dodoma on Friday scored both goals in the first half at the city's Jamhuri Stadium. This was against the expectations of the MPs who had never lost a match in Dodoma. The Speaker of Parliament Samuel Sitta had warned before the match that the Wazees are in for a thorough beating.
Earlier in the day, the Wazees attended the morning session of the Budget Parliamentary session which approved the budget of the Ministry of Infrastructure. The Wazees have also agreed with the Bunge team to establish sporting relationship which will entail annual exchange sporting visits between Arusha and Dodoma.
In the meantime the Wazees are on August 8 expected to play host to a group of about 100 members of the House of Representatives who will be in Arusha for the annual sporting visit with the Wazees.
According to the Chairman of the Wazees Club, Danford Mpumilwa, the Zanzibaris will also take advantage of the tour to visit various areas of interest in and around Arusha including a visit to one of the National Parks.
